The Council on Business & Society (CoBS), created by ESSEC in 2011 and the international branch of the ESSEC Together initiative, welcomes Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa, to the alliance. Now totalling eight member schools, the addition of our new member gives the CoBS firm anchorage in Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and now Africa.

ESSEC and the CoBS welcome this prestigious triple crown accredited institution whose teaching and research – focusing on responsible leadership, diversity and inclusion, social enterprise and entrepreneurship – is perfectly aligned with the CoBS mission and purpose. In the lead up to becoming a member, the CoBS and Stellenbosch faculty worked on several initial projects including insights, research pods and chapters that will appear in the first book in the Routledge-CoBS Focus on Business series to be published in August. We look forward to highlighting Stellenbosch expertise alongside that of the other member schools in our full range of publications, CoBS faculty exchange and research initiative, learning and pedagogical content, the annual inter-school student CSR competition, and the ESSEC-CoBS knowledge partnership with the OECD-B4IG initiative.

In the coming months, we hope to enlarge the alliance further, notably retying links with a leading North American school.
