Mr. Sylvain Remy, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and Smart Cities, was an invited speaker at the Roundtable on Urban Planning, Strategy, and Real Estate Management held at Seoul National University on 29 April 2016.
During his presentation, Mr. Remy shared insights on “Smart Cities and the Value of Ecosystem Services”, addressing topics such as the factors of urban value creation, the presence of ecosystems in cities, the concept of urban ecosystem services, and how global trends are putting the spotlight on urban ecosystems. To demonstrate the value of urban natural assets, Mr. Remy shared case studies of ecologically Smart Cities, such as Singapore’s ABC Waters project, Copenhagen Harbour Baths, and walkonomics.com .

About the Roundtable on Urban Planning, Strategy, and Real Estate Management
Organized by the Department of Architecture & Architectural Engineering at Seoul National University and ESSEC Business School, the Roundtable on Urban Planning, Strategy and Real Estate Management gathered experts in the field of Smart Cities, including Prof. Kim Hyun Cheol (SNU-DAAE), Prof. Patrice Noisette (ESSEC), Dr. Jakub Taylor (SKKU Academy of East Asian Studies) and CBRE Korea.
