ESSEC Business School opened the doors of its Cergy-Pontoise campus this last Saturday 21st January to enable students and parents to become familiar with the studies and facilities the institution offers.
From 10 am onwards they were many to enter the ESSEC Business School Campus in Cergy. For all of these visitors, a shared objective: discover the ESSEC experience. Students from the school were the initial ambassadors to help the guests discover every nook and cranny of the campus through personalized tours and speak about their studies, experiences, and student and club life on the campus.
Several Master Classes facilitated by ESSEC professors enabled visitors to get a clear insight into the teaching and courses delivered within the school. An exercise that was greatly appreciated by Guillaume Chevillon, ESSEC professor and Director of the MSc in Data Sciences & Business Analytics ESSEC - CentraleSupélec. For 45 minutes, he spoke about the stakes in Big Data and the value of Analytics in customer relations. ‘It’s an interesting day in that it allows people to see students who still aren’t totally sure which studies to follow, to speak with them and demonstrate the added value of Big Data in a school of management. Without this contact some of them would never have dared to apply. And for me, it also makes me reflect on how to even further improve what we propose within our programs.’
The visitors were offered all the necessary information required for the various programs in full-time studies such as the Global MBA, proposed from the start of the new term, or the Grande Ecole and BBA programs.
Anne-Claire Pache, Deputy-Director in charge of the Grande École and Full-time studies, answered a host of questions from the potential ESSEC students, and also their parents. ‘There is no one ESSEC graduate who does the same thing,’ she explained. ‘In each program, students build their track according to their objectives and career projects: students are assisted by the Student Affairs office which is present on a daily basis to guide and orient them.’ Before providing advice to those trying to join ESSEC, she offered an insight: ‘You’ve got to believe in yourself and keep your spirit up. No student gets here by chance. Boost your effort by having the conviction that you can do it, and give the very best of yourselves!’ It is now up to them to do just that!
