The ESSEC Change Management Chair was founded in 2010. It is an action-research Chair whose objective is to develop and disseminate knowledge in change and transformation management. The ESSEC Change Management Chair is twinned with the IMEO Chair (Managerial Innovation and Operational Excellence).

Some of the Chair's research projects are carried out with the ESSEC campuses in Singapore and Rabat in Morocco, and others are planned with the ESSEC campus in Singapore for the Asian dimension.

The ESSEC Change Management Chair, together with its various partners, has produced a process and content for the certification of people working in change management.
This took the form of a competency framework with three levels of expertise:
CHANGE LEARNER: Mastering change management tools to support projects and train managers;
CHANGE MAKER: Definition of change strategies and support systems for projects and/ or organizations;
CHANGE MASTER: Strategic driving of transformation for an entire enterprise.
The three levels of certification are obtained consecutively, either during dedicated training courses delivered by ESSEC Executive or as part of professional development programs with the Chair's partners.
Every year, the Chair organizes the International Transformation Meetings (RIT) and issues the ESSEC Transformation Awards. In 10 years, almost 60 awards have been issued to encourage innovative teams in terms of performance and change.
The ESSEC Change Management Chair produces publications, articles and MOOCs to disseminate knowledge in managerial innovation and operational excellence.
The Chair regularly organizes conferences for the general public at the ESSEC Executive Education campus in Paris-La Défense, or online.
