Managerial Innovation & Operational Excellence Chair

The ESSEC IMEO Chair was established in 2017. It is an action-research Chair that aims to develop and disseminate knowledge on new organization models and future developments of management. The ESSEC IMEO Chair is twinned with the ESSEC Change Management Chair.

The objective of this research chair is to experiment, prototype and generalize new forms of management in a dual logic of innovation and operational excellence. These new practices are then implemented in such a way as to combine the momentum of managerial innovation (MI) with operational excellence (OE) in pursuit of sustainable performance. The MI-OE dyad operates on a research-action logic, with a view to developing new practices and tools, as well as prospective hypotheses by questioning what the business models of the future might look like.

A team of 10 research associates develop action research projects with corporate partners. Since 2017, 13 organizations have benefited from the Chair's contributions BNPP; CD & B; COVEA; ENEDIS; EUROGROUP; HUMANIS; LA POSTE; ORANO; THALES; RENAULT-NISSAN CONSULTING; the Hauts-de-Seine department (92); the Yvelines department (78); VEOLIA.

The ESSEC IMEO Chair produces publications, articles and MOOCs to promote the dissemination of knowledge in managerial innovation and operational excellence
Every year, the chair hosts the International Transformation Meetings (RIT) and delivers the ESSEC Transformation Awards.
The chair regularly organizes conferences for the general public at the ESSEC Executive Education campus in Paris-La Défense, or online.
The ESSEC Change Management Chair and the IMEO (Managerial Innovation & Operational Excellence) Chair have developed seven free MOOCs designed to help managers develop their managerial skills. These MOOCs enable the Chairs to disseminate innovative pedagogical and operational contents to a wide audience, remotely and asynchronously, via the COURSERA platform.

CONFERENCES

Each year, the ESSEC IMEO and ESSEC Change Management Chairs develop events based on the interactions among key partners and stakeholders in a co-construction logic with contributions from a wide range of experts. In addition to these events, various research projects are carried out with our various partners.

The conferences take place at 6pm at the ESSEC Paris-La Défense campus, at the Cnit Paris-La Défense building (or online).

ESSEC TRANSFORMATION AWARDS:

The ESSEC Transformation Awards recognize change management projects, corporate strategies, innovations and change support and professionalization programs. The awards are presented during the International Transformation Conference. The awards recognize operational and innovative ways of implementing change. Each of the projects provide interesting insight and turns the spotlight on to these companies and the people behind them.
