Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship Chair

Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship Chair

Created in 2002, the Chair was the first in France dedicated to social and environmental innovation and social entrepreneurship, with the objective of adapting to the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) principles of organization and management that had proven their worth in other sectors, as well as to train tomorrow's social entrepreneurs.

For more than 20 years, the Chair has been developing its expertise in the field of social innovation and in the management, development and scale-up of organizations that implement these innovations.

"Inventing solutions to the social and environmental challenges of our time, developing those solutions, and transforming organizations so that they have a positive impact on society - that's what you'll learn at the Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship Chair."

Joining the Chair means:

  • benefiting from the Chair's network in France and throughout the world: being part of a network of more than 440 alumni, the "Chairies Club" and, for each student, a mentor from among these "Chairies";

  • becoming immersed in the ecosystem created by the Chair within ESSEC Business School:

    • the Antropia ESSEC impact business accelerator, which has supported over 400 projects since 2008;

    • The E&MISE "Evaluation and Measurement of Social and Environmental Impact" laboratory;

    • the digital platform impactinitiative.essec.edu;

    • close links with the Talents for Ecological Transition Chair; Global Circular Economy Chair; Philanthropy Chair; the Equality Diversity Inclusion Center; the ACT Bachelor's degree and the MS Sustainability.

20 years entreprenatriat chaire

At the end of the course, students will be able to enter the world of innovation, social and environmental impact thanks to the multiplicity of issues and topics covered, in-depth meetings with professionals in the field, and the methods and tools they have learned in class.

Our objective: to provide the keys to understanding the challenges of social innovation in order to take action and to know how to build strategies that will enable you to be effective and maximize your impact.

  • Orientation weekend and Chair trip.

  • Experiences in the field: Engagement evening, missions for social entrepreneurs, "partner challenges".
