Academic reach: New faces join the ESSEC faculty body

The new academic year 2016-2017 sees 6 new Professors and 5 different nationalities from the most prestigious French and international universities joining the ESSEC Cergy and Singapore campuses

Mark Christensen is Australian and joins ESSEC from Southern Cross University Australia as Professor within the Accounting and Management Control Department. He is an expert in accounting in the public sector and the behavioral aspects of accounting management. Mark Christensen joins the ESSEC Asia-Pacific Singapore campus.

Ping-Sheng Koh, formerly of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, joins us as an Associate Professor in the Accounting and Management Control Department. He is an expert in empirical financial accounting, corporate governance and enterprise innovation. Of Australian nationality, Prof. Ping-Sheng Koh also joins the ESSEC Asia-Pacific Singapore campus.

Thomas Kude joins ESSEC as an Assistant Professor in the Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics Department. Thomas Kude is German, formerly occupying a post at the University of Mannheim, Business School, and is an expert in digital business. He will teach on the Cergy campus in France.

Anand Nandkumar becomes a member of the School’s faculty as an Associate Professor in the Management Department. Of Indian nationality, and joining us from Indian School of Business at Hyderabad, his area of expertise is change in intellectual property policies, influence innovation and competition in industry. Anand Nandkumar joins the ESSEC Asia-Pacific Singapore campus.

Ramkishen Rajan, Indian, joins ESSEC from George Mason University as Professor in the Economics Department and is an expert in international economic policies, finance and international development. Ramkishen Rajan will join his colleagues on the ESSEC Asia-Pacific Singapore campus.

Maciej Workiewicz is Canadian-Polish and joins ESSEC from INSEAD as an Assistant Professor in the Management Department. Prof. Maciej Workiewicz’s area of expertise lies in organizational design and its adaptation, learning, routine and innovation, and will teach on the Cergy campus in France.

In addition, starting from the new 2016 academic year 4 Cergy-based professors will move to ESSEC’s new Asia-Pacific campus in Singapore

Jan Ondrus from the Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics Department, is also the holder of the ESSEC Chair for Networked Business Models. He is an expert in mobile payment platforms, management and strategy in information technologies and innovation management.

Xavier Pavie from the Operations Management Department is also Associate Academic Director of the ESSEC Grande Ecole program in Singapore. His areas of expertise include innovation management strategies, responsible innovation as a strategy aiming to improve the performance of organizations, and learning innovation.

Sonja Prokopec from the Marketing Department is also the holder of the ESSEC LVMH Chair. Sonja Prokopec’s expertise centers on consumer decisions, auto-regulation and luxury brands.

Aarti Ramaswami from the Management Department is also Academic Director of the Global MBA program. She is an expert in questions linked to diversity, development relations, and intercultural management.
