Hello, I'm Ranjay Goyal from India. I am a seasoned Product & Project Manager with a diverse background spanning multiple industries such as Travel tech, healthcare and Supply Chain. Holding an MBA from ESSEC Business School, specializing in Strategy and Digital Leadership, I bring a unique blend of engineering expertise and a passion for innovation.
I am committed to fostering innovation, efficiency, and success in every project I undertake, and I look forward to bringing my wealth of experience to new and exciting challenges in my further years. I am currently working with Agoda as Project Manager in Bangkok, Thailand with the Customer Experience Group. Focused on optimizing workflows, I am dedicated to enhancing the performance of the customer experience team ensuring customers enjoy a delightful experience.

What was your background before you decided to look for an MBA?

Before my MBA, I had over 6 years of comprehensive experience in the SaaS industry. Through these years, I have successfully navigated the complexities of end-to-end products. My journey includes substantial contributions to critical projects by leveraging my skills in product discovery, customer-centric approaches, market research, and Agile methodologies. I have also been a career entrepreneur with extensive experience in the OTA industry and Automotive sector.

ESSEC’s industry relations and alumni network helped provide numerous opportunities for me to network. The field trips during the program offered practical experience, making meaningful connections with industry experts, and understand the challenges faced by businesses in different countries and learn from them.

What was your project when you entered the program?

Before pursuing my MBA, I served as a Healthcare Industry professional, demonstrating a successful history of project delivery within established timelines and budgets, adhering to global standards. My role as a Delivery Lead allowed me to leverage my technical expertise and in-depth understanding of the healthcare domain, contributing to project success and the development of innovative solutions. This experience enriched my project management skills and strengthened my ability to manage stakeholders effectively. In addition, I was also involved in running my OTA startup B-nomad, an OTA platform that promotes sustainable travel choices, encompassing eco-friendly hotels and curated packages and activities.

What are the main skills that you acquired during the program?

With a focus on Sustainable Finance, Data-Driven Innovation and Operations Management during the MBA, these skills will allow me to help clients design and implement new business and operational models. My strategic mindset from courses in Corporate Strategy, Managing AI, and Management Consulting will help me in planning and implementing solutions with data, analytics, and AI at the core. I am confident that I can quickly analyze complex issues and generate innovative solutions.

What is your current job position and how did the GMBA help you reach it?

I currently hold the position of Project Manager at Agoda, based at their headquarters in Bangkok, where my role involves providing internal consultation and streamlining processes to enhance efficiency within the Customer Experience team. The courses on Digital Transformation and Managing AI among others, helped me understand the industry landscape and the significance of operational efficiency. This knowledge has fostered a broader perspective and a more expansive thought process to think about how to strategically implement changes that not only enhance productivity but also contribute to overall project success. The insights gained from the curriculum at ESSEC has equipped me with valuable tools to navigate the dynamic industry landscape. I'm now equipped to tackle projects at Agoda with creative solutions and a thorough grasp of how efficiency through digital transformation is linked to the results of the project.

What is your best memory of the program?

Among all the events, classes, and trips, my fondest memory is from London. Chablis was a great experience too, that helped us make connections within the cohort. However, during those early days, as we were still getting to know each other, not everyone was as close.
During our trip to London in Term 3, we were all close-knit and knew each other well, that made the field trip even more enjoyable. Apart from engaging with companies, we also spent quality time exploring London, making those couple of days some of the best memories we created together.
