The latest results, accumulated from 2017 to 2021, showed that ESSEC is ranked 3rd in Europe, Africa and Middle East in the AIS list, just behind the University of Jyvaskyla in Finland and Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. ESSEC is also the first French Business School placed in the top 40 of the global ranking.
Thomas Kude, Associate Professor of Information Systems at ESSEC, is ranked in the top 85 scholars out of 200 top global IS scholars. His current research focuses on digital ecosystems and agile software development. In 2018, the Association for Information Systems awarded him with the AIS Early Career Award for the best paper published in the journal Information Systems Research.

Everything is evolving very quickly and the major turn ESSEC is taking with its social and societal vision, its logic of accelerated entrepreneurship, its Metalab and its entire ecosystem around AI, break down the barriers and silos between disciplines. This will further affirm the school's unique values and identity," said Julien Malaurent, Associate Professor at ESSEC, and Academic Codirector of the METALAB for Data, Technology and Society, who teaches digital transformation in several programs.
