Learning without borders: ESSEC masterclasses around the world

14.2.2025

In a constantly evolving world, understanding economic, technological, and societal dynamics is crucial. With this in mind, ESSEC Executive Education is hosting a series of international masterclasses led by distinguished faculty members. Organized in collaboration with ESSEC, its Alumni network, and local chapters, these events provide professionals with privileged access to the latest industry trends while strengthening the school’s global reach.

New York, Montreal, London, Seoul, Tokyo—these major cities are not just business hubs but also centers of innovation. Thanks to the active involvement of the ESSEC Alumni network, these masterclasses engage with local dynamics, fostering connections between businesses, institutions, and thought leaders.

"These short, interactive formats are designed to address today’s professional challenges. By leveraging ESSEC’s diverse international network, they provide a unique platform for learning and collaboration." Matias Gonano, Marketing & Commercial Director, ESSEC Executive Education

Beyond knowledge-sharing, these events also serve as opportunities to strengthen ties with corporate partners and support their growth, particularly in talent acquisition and management.

Each masterclass focuses on a critical issue, drawing on the latest academic research and practical insights from industry experts.

  • Montreal – February 25: Leadership & Change Management
Led by Professor David Sluss, Professor of Leadership & Organizational Behavior, Chairholder of Leading@Scale, and Academic Director of ESSEC’s Global MBA, this session will emphasize adaptability and leadership in an evolving world. Strongly supported by the local alumni network, this highly anticipated event is set to be a success.

  • London – March 20: AI & Business Strategy
Co-organized with ESSEC’s London Hub, the international office, and the ESSEC career services, this masterclass will be led by Professor Julien Malaurent. Hosted at the Sofitel London, the session will provide an ideal setting for discussions on AI’s impact on business strategy.

  • Tokyo – March 28: Responsible Innovation
Co-organized with ESSEC’s Tokyo partners, this masterclass will be led by Professor Xavier Pavie, philosopher and professor at ESSEC Business School. The session will highlight the challenges of ethical and sustainable innovation in an increasingly performance-driven and socially responsible economy.

Beyond academic insights, these masterclasses foster exchanges between participants and local experts. “In a world where decision-making is increasingly collaborative, these events create bridges across industries and regions,” says Matthew Gibb, Strategic Director for International Relations at ESSEC.

By joining these sessions, professionals become part of a dynamic community ready to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
