As part of their study trip, students also participated in the London Finance Fair organized by ESSEC Business School and CentraleSupélec on 24 September 2015. Gathering around 200 participants, 11 companies and partners, the Fair was focused on financial profiles looking to pursue a career in the United Kingdom. The London Finance Fair is one of the two finance-focused recruitment fairs organized by ESSEC in the Fall semester, on top of the International Banking Seminar, which will be held in Cergy in mid-October.

At the fair, students met with representatives from Ardian, Barclays, Blackstone, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, EDF Energy, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, HSBC and Nomura. The fair provided a facilitative platform for students to connect with professionals from the industry and find out more about the career opportunities available in these institutions.

To Dr. Patrick Lecomte, Executive Director, Advanced Master in Financial Techniques (Financial Engineering Asia Track), “Gaining exposure to top Investment Banks in Europe and Asia is an integral part of the student experience of the Advanced Master in Financial Techniques (Financial Engineering Asia Track). Last year, over half of our students found internships and/or full-time jobs in London, which remains Europe’s prominent financial center.”

Students also met with ESSEC alumni working in the Finance industry in London, who generously shared their experience and advice on career development.

The study trip was a valuable opportunity for students looking to develop their careers in London.
