Prof. Kevyn Yong, Dean of ESSEC Business School, Asia-Pacific, was the moderator of the Panel Discussion on “Innovation for Economic Development: Avenues for Singapore-France Cooperation” at the Singapore-France Innovation Forum which was held at Matrix Biopolis, Singapore, on 27 March 2017.
The panel was made up of experts and thought leaders from Singapore and France, including Mr. Tay Kok Khiang, Chairman, Aerospace Programme, A*STAR, Mr. Guillaume Faury, CEO, Airbus Helicopters, Mr. Benjamin Seet, Executive Director, BMRC, A*STAR, Mr. Xavier Duportet, Senior Advisor to the French Government for Emerging TEchnologies and CEO, Eligo Bioscience, Ms. Jacqueline Poh, Chief Executive, GovTech, Mr. Gérard Mestrallet, ex-CEO and Chairman, ENGIE, Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief Fintech Officer, MAS, Mr. Pierre Veyres, Managing Director, BNP Singapore, Mr. Philip Lim, CEO, ETPL, A*STAR, as well as Mr. Frédéric Oru, International Director, NUMA.
During the panel, panelists shared their perspectives and discussed topics such as smart cities, health, fintech and new technologies.
Organized by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Embassy of France, the Singapore-France Innovation Forum was officially opened by French President Mr. François Hollande, and Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
