Rankings and accreditations

Rankings are a decisive tool for measuring the quality of schools, their commitment to pedagogical innovation and research, and the employability of their students and participants. As a result of its continuous commitment for excellence, ESSEC Business School is ranked among the best business schools in France and in the world.

These results attest to the relevance of the strategy of excellence implemented by ESSEC since its founding as well as its ambition to infuse leadership with meaning.

This positioning puts the spotlight on the major assets of our school, including the very high quality of its programs, the talent of its graduates and the many professional opportunities available to them.

Choosing ESSEC also means choosing the first school outside North America to be accredited by AACSB International, and a school which is part of an elite network of business schools throughout the world holding the "triple crown", awarded by three of the world’s most prestigious accreditation associations: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

AACSB

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is an American quality label that was created in 1916. It evaluates the excellence of an institution through a number of standards, including the relevance of its mission and strategy, the qualifications of its faculty, the quality of its programs and the support offered to students, as well as its ability to innovate and continuously improve its programs.

Today, more than 900 business schools around the world are accredited, only 20 of which are in France. Schools that have achieved this accreditation demonstrate a continuous commitment to excellence in teaching, research, program development and student success.

EQUIS

Established in 1997 by the European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS accreditation values a commitment to internationalization, respect for diversity, and the importance of a corporate connection. The goal of EQUIS is not only to provide accreditation to business schools but to improve the quality of management education worldwide. Starting with 19 pioneering schools in Europe, EQUIS accreditation now encompasses 209 accredited schools in 45 countries.

AMBA

The Association of MBA's (AMBA) accreditation was established in 1967 in London to uphold strong standards and promote innovation in global higher education in management. It evaluates the MBA, DBA and Master's programs of more than 260 business schools in over 75 countries. Its philosophy focuses on impact, employability and learning outcomes. Its rigorous criteria ensure that only programs that demonstrate the highest standards in teaching, learning and program design, career development and employability, and interaction with students, alumni and employers achieve AMBA accreditation.

Three of ESSEC's programs have been evaluated and accredited by AMBA: the Global MBA, the Executive MBA and the Master in Management.

CEFDG, Commission d'évaluation des formations et diplômes de gestion

The CEFDG is placed under the dual supervision of the French Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economics and finance. It plays a regulatory role by organizing and guaranteeing the quality control of state-approved training programs. Only those degrees that have been duly authorized by the Ministry in charge of higher education following evaluation by the CEFDG can be awarded a state-accredited BA or MA or equivalent. The commission thus determines quality standards by establishing a precise and rigorous reference system.
