In just a few weeks, on April 13th and 14th, ESSEC will hold the first edition of the Research & Society conference: two days dedicated to discussions, reflections, and building links between research and society. This event is organized by the ESSEC Research Center and the Council of Business & Society, with the support of CYU.

April 13th is Science & Society, dedicated to the future of work. Gilbert Azoulay, an expert in higher education and director of NewsTank Education, will be hosting the morning. The invited guests will present their visions, initiatives, and research on the topic. Highlights of the day will include:

A keynote speech on well-being at work by Julia Néel Biz, co-founder of teale, an app for prioritizing mental health at work

A presentation on the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market by Stijn Broeke, senior economist at the OECD

A roundtable discussion about the future of work, moderated by Gilbert Azoulay, and featuring Fabrice Cavarretta (ESSEC management professor), Valentine Ferreol (Digital transformation expert), Martin Lauquin (Founder of the Making Tomorrow project and creative strategist at onepoint), Audrey Richard (President of the Association Nationale des DRH, a human resources professional group, and Human Resources Director of Up Coop), Emilie Kerharou-Paris (workplace sociologist and founder of KP.Pro), Luc Mathieu (National Secretary of the CFDT) and Julie Lattes (Senior Strategy Director at BCG BrightHouse).

April 14th is Research Day, shining a spotlight on the innovative work of ESSEC professors on topics with societal impact. There will be something for everyone, with presentations on female leadership, practical applications of marketing and statistics, economic nationalism, and more, including a roundtable discussion on innovation and collaboration. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about the research of doctoral students, who will present their work with posters displayed on both days.
Why are we organizing this event? Research and Society is above all a concept that demonstrates our commitment to sharing scientific knowledge with the general public, and encouraging citizen science and the fight against misinformation. By virtue of this event, ESSEC will connect to its community to share insights and brainstorm solutions to shared challenges.
