“I chose the Executive Master in Digital Transformation because it was online, because of the strong ESSEC brand, and because I knew I’d be connecting with other professionals. I also loved the modular approach, it allowed me to focus on topics I was most passionate about.”

A Deep Dive into Digital Transformation

Lynn selected four core modules:

  • Digital Business Models from Design to Responsible Governance

  • Design Thinking & Agile Methods

  • Driving Digital Change – People & Processes

  • Data-Driven Strategies & Analytics

“Design Thinking was the most energizing; it was completely new to me” she recalls. “But Digital Business Models was the most intense and rewarding. It covered the A to Z of business models and pushed us hard. The bonds I formed with peers during this module became a lasting support network throughout the program.”

Immediate Career Impact

Throughout the program, Lynn applied her new skills particularly in strategyproject management, and digital transformation directly in her role.

“One of the biggest challenges at work was switching to a new tool system across all Customer Success Managers. Thanks to the Driving Digital Change module, I was well equipped to support and lead that transition.”

Flexibility That Made It All Possible

The flexibility of ESSEC Online was a game-changer for Lynn especially during an unpredictable period.

“During the program, I changed jobs, moved countries, and had a baby. The flexibility of ESSEC Online was essential. If it had been any less adaptable, I wouldn’t have been able to continue.”

She also praised the support system: “Having an academic coach and an admin coordinator to turn to was key. Whether it was to help with project feedback or fixing technical issues during exams, they were always there.”

A Rich Online Ecosystem

The program’s hybrid structure with soft weekly and hard monthly deadlines helped Lynn stay organized. Integration with her calendar made it easier to balance life and learning. She also benefited from the Klabs digital library, shared drivesSlack collaboration, and a structured project-based peer network.

Despite some group work challenges, she sees more advantages than drawbacks. “Honestly, I don’t see the need for in-person education anymore. The global networking and time saved through online learning make it the smarter choice for me.”

Looking Ahead

Lynn’s thesis opened new doors. “Through my research, I met and interviewed experts in a field I had no prior connections in. Everyone I approached was willing to help; those conversations were invaluable.”

Shortly after completing the program, Lynn took a significant step in her career by joining Markersite, a company at the forefront of carbon accounting marking both an industry shift and a new chapter aligned with her growing interest in sustainability.
