The GMBA new cohort kicks off the year with the launch of the “Toward Responsible Innovation” Consulting Mission in partnership with Compagnie du Mont

13.9.2023

From day one, our Global MBA participants focus on developing their ability to enlighten,  lead, and change the world around them. We believe that a more sustainable, digitally-connected, and innovative world requires leaders to integrate collaboration and competition as well as creativity and execution.

Therefore, through signature developmental experiences, the GMBA implements a “do, reflect, and learn” approach to building our participant’s leadership competencies.

On September 6th, our Global MBA participants dove into their first leadership development experience with great motivation and passion through the “Toward Responsible Innovation”consulting mission that puts into practice ESSEC’s belief that the grand business challenges can only be met via collaborative and ‘future-forward’ leadership. Thanks to engaging presentations by Professor Xavier Pavie from ESSEC Business School and Antoine Burnet from Compagnie du Mont Blanc, our participants were fully immersed into their sustainability mission.

This 4-month consulting project will enable participants to acquire new skills, techniques and experiences learnt from a living case focused on responsible innovation.

This unique experience revolves around three major dimensions which are:

  • The exploration of a practical, real case, implemented jointly with our partner Compagnie du Mont-Blanc where students work for 4 months to solve a problem around sustainability
  • A learning by doing approach that requires intense student involvement and autonomy.
  • Following a course on innovation and responsibility to understand the fundamental notions and concepts to be articulated throughout their sustainability consulting mission.

As our students will be divided in groups, they will tackle real-life and current issues directly faced by the renowned mountain resort such as the challenges of overcrowding, the decarbonation of transport, launching new and sustainable activities, developing an innovative and responsible customer experience or rethinking the communication strategy.

We are looking forward to this amazing collaboration with the Compagnie du Mont Blanc and will follow our participants throughout their mission in the upcoming months.

As they start working on rethinking the mountain experience to serve the common good, we wish them the best in this first exciting sustainability project!
