Set up between project management opportunity, iconic encounters, and cultural immersion, the week-long international study trip, only open for students in the Startup Launchpad track, offers a chance to meet entrepreneurs in a stimulating environment that fosters the creation of ever more innovative businesses.

For example, the trip to Silicon Valley was a unique and inspiring experience and a powerful human adventure.

As described by a group of students:

“We had the opportunity to visit the campus of this world-renowned university and attend the famous E-corner talks (including one by Josh Reeves). Research and innovation were also on the agenda, with visits to universities and labs such as Singularity University and HP Labs. Our stay in San Francisco also included tours of promising startups like Famo.us (now known as Amaze) and emerging ventures like GoFactory, YouNoodle, and Bubblz (founded by ESSEC alumni). The entrepreneur meetings we attended helped us strengthen our network and gain insight into how Silicon Valley operates. We were also welcomed by organizations that support the development of French startups in the valley, such as Business France and the French Tech Hub. These meetings made us realize that a future in Silicon Valley is also possible for French startups.

Amidst this packed schedule, we also explored the city, experiencing its unique heritage and culture.

Ultimately, we returned energized, highly motivated, and ready to dive back into our personal entrepreneurial projects—with some of us dreaming of returning to San Francisco in the coming years to embark on our own entrepreneurial adventures.”

The professional thesis marks the culmination of the program and may, or may not, be based on your entrepreneurial project under the guidance of a tutor.

Its strength lies in your strategic thinking and the relevance of your operational recommendations.

Here are some examples of professional dissertations completed by students:

  • The concept of CSR applied to SMEs.
  • Is there a market for strategy consulting for newly created businesses?
  • First fundraising: Should an entrepreneur accept a loss of control in exchange for a larger funding round?
  • How can new companies emerge today in France within a vast and mature agri-food market?
  • Will new collaboration models between large corporations and startups foster more efficient relationships, leading to the realization of real synergies?
